Today six week grades are posted. This is an important time for you to look at how you are doing in your classes and see if you are meeting your goals you have set for yourself this year. If you are meeting your expectations, that is great! If not, you still have time to change course and push a bit harder in the areas you need to. Your teachers are always willing to help students that care and want to do their best.
We will continue working on our ZENTANGLES today. I noticed on Friday that most of the students in class who are creating intricate patterns and drawing patterns that display great craftsmanship still need more time to finish these pieces. It is always my intent to give students, who attend class every day and work from the beginning of class to the end, the amount of time they need in class to finish the assigned work. There are always students who do work in this fashion who need more time because they are very meticulous and work at a slower pace because of this. That is why the project is never actually due on the last day we work on it in class. Typically, students will have one week after the last day working in class on a project to work on it outside of class to complete it.
This is not the case if the project is being finished right at the end of a grading period.
Remember to review the rubric frequently to see if you are on track and understand what is the grading criteria. The rubric is on this blog on 09/29/15.
