STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO CLEARLY IDENTIFY VERBALLY AND IN WRITING NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE SPACE IN THEIR ENVIRONMENT.
We will continue to work on our original NOTAN designs. Once the drawing is completed on the black paper, the pieces will be cut out using scissors and in case of small details, cutting knives will be used. All pieces will be carefully set aside since they will be needed for the finished design. Envelopes will be made with a sheet of white paper and staples to keep the pieces in. Any student who is having difficulty understanding the process will be encouraged to watch the NOTAN YouTube video which is on the Friday blog.
Careful craftsmanship is always emphasized. This includes spending time while drawing to make the lines where intended, careful cutting to avoid over cutting, ripping or tearing and gluing down the pieces completely and in the right area so the NOTAN is properly aligned. Good craftsmanship is always included in part of the assessment of the project.
