Students will show through their zentangle project an understanding of basic pattern design by drawing repeated linear shapes that create light, dark and medium values as well as variations in shapes and sizes.
TODAY IS THE LAST "IN CLASS" DAY TO WORK ON THE ZENTANGLE PROJECT.
ZENTANGLES ARE DUE ON TUESDAY OCTOBER 13TH. TO RECEIVE FULL CREDIT YOUR ZENTANGLE MUST BE TURNED IN BEFORE YOU LEAVE CLASS ON TUESDAY.

Students have the entire block to work completing this project. If more time is needed, there are five days outside of class including the weekend to finish this project. All students were given the rubric which outlines the criteria used for grading this project. I believe it is important for students to thoroughly go over the rubric in order for them to make sure they have included all the necessary components in their projects. This rubric is based on a four point system. When scoring, a specific area may be given a total that falls between two numbers, such as 2.5 rather than a 2 or a 3.
If students finish early, there is always a list of extension activities available that the student can work from. Extension activities help students continue to grow as artists. They give students the opportunity to improve their artistic and/or creative skills.
If you complete your ZENTANGLE PROJECT ahead of schedule, please begin an extension project. Here are your choices:
1) Draw your shoe.
2) Draw noise.
3) Draw a lie.
4) Draw two animals that become one.
5) Create a magazine image collage.
